Q1 progress

I started with a rough sketch of what I thought the composition would be

I did another sketch, adding more action between the characters.

I basically repainted the whole dune and sky because i previously accidentally used the cheap paint. I am learning that I have horrible fine motor skills because I cannot seem to paint a straight line. Everything you see here was painted at least twice. I still have to add the ghost’s outlines in white (for now they are just glowy smudges), and paint in the peregrine falcon.

I painted the falcon, as well as the sky behind him. They’re my two favorite parts of the piece.

Then, I added the ghosts in white pen. Lastly, I put book pages on the sides, mostly on the bottom left where the composition needed to be balanced out. I did this by formatting the google doc story like a real book, printing a few pages, running a green teabag under hot water and squeezing it all over them, and letting them dry.
